What a GREAT place Radcliff is to call home. As a native of Radcliff, I can personally attest to the attributes of this proud "Army town." It is simply a wonderful place to live, raise a family, and enjoy a cost of living rate that makes ample way for a great quality of life.
Working closely with the Radcliff business community has proven that we have a membership that is genuine and hard working (and a lot of fun to be around), a Board of Directors that is supportive and committed to Chamber members and staff, a terrific group of Ambassadors who keep us informed about issues that are important to you, and busy committees who don't just have "meetings", but dive into true brainstorming sessions where they keep one thought at the forefront of their minds: doing the best and right things for chamber members and the entire business community. Outside of the chamber, our relationship with local government and neighboring Fort Knox is one of friendly, supportive and goal-oriented cooperation. We enjoy a sense of collaborative teamwork with Tourism, North Hardin Economic Development Authority and One Knox, greatly due to a mutual acknowledgement and appreciation for the fact that our goals are parallel when it comes to the welfare of this community.
In 2005, fortune smiled incredibly on our community with the Department of Defense's final Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) recommendation to consolidate the Army's Human Resources Command and Cadet Command at Fort Knox, to include the return of a combat warfighting brigade and its supporting organizations. While the actual implementation is "fluid" at this point, we know that base realignment at Fort Knox is a certainty. Construction and expansion projects at Fort Knox are at a historic peak right now, and we are being vigilant in terms of what we specifically need to be doing as a community to be a good partner with Fort Knox during this time of unprecedented growth and change.
Admittedly, we are all facing uncertain economic times now, but we must--and do--remain optimistic about the possibilities for this region's continued growth. This chamber has its sights set on the goal of continually challenging ourselves to be innovative and forward thinking, to be good regional partners with other local communities, and to never forget that we cannot afford to take anything for granted when it comes to the viability of our business community, and with these benchmarks in mind, we will continue to "Move Business and Community Forward."
